FESTIVALL 2008 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Events are free unless ticket prices are listed. Except where noted, tickets are available in advance at The Clay Center Box Office (304-561-3570, www.theclaycenter.org). They will also be sold at the events if available.

Some events (marked with *) are not officially part of FestivALL but are worth noting.

This schedule will be regularly updated. Please check back often. All events are free except where noted. For more information about the events and artists please see the music, theater, dance and visual art areas of this web site.


PUBLIC VISUAL ART

UNIVERSITY ART STUDENT INSTALLATIONS
Students chosen by the art departments of West Virginia University, Marshall University, West Virginia State University and The University of Charleston will design, create and install pieces in locations around Charleston. Exact locations TBA.

ALLIED ARTISTS MURAL
An Allied Artists contest was won by Todd Thomas. His work will be converted to billboard size and installed on top of 1007 Bigley Place. It will be visible to motorists on I-64/77/79. Installation party TBA.

'PRESS 2 FOR SPANISH' ART INSTALLATION
Installation ceremony June 5. Charleston artist Amy Williams will design and create over twenty signs labeling familiar things around town in both Spanish and English. Using stencil art, the signs will call attention to the importance of language and communication. The installation, which will be up for 3 weeks, will also be an opportunity for passersby to learn words from another language. Charleston artist, Chris Dutch, provides assistance in this art project that combines street art, learning and fun. Workshop on making stencil art TBA.

PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT
Charleston photographer K.D. Lett will take portraits of FestivALL visitors in a constructed set and choose some of them to make into photographic creations that will be printed and exhibited. Times and place TBA. LOCATION:CHARLESTON BALLET STUDIO, 820 Virginia Street.
