8 Nations Hip Hop Group

Featuring dancers from Lee's Studio and 8 Nation Hip Hop troupe.

 

Capital High Dance Company

A 45-minute program of varied dance styles by dancers from Capital High School’s dance company under direction of A. Michelle Legg.

Location: Intermezzo Café Area, Clay Center

The Paint Dance

The Snake and the Pot introduce a unique experience in mixed media art, The Paint Dance. Combining elements of live music, dancing and paint, Duane and Amanda Jane create a lasting footprint on canvas.

Location: Lee Street Triangle

Kids' Variety Show

An evening “open-mic” showcase of local young talent at Bluegrass Kitchen. The event will be hosted by Ron Sowell and there will be limited space for “walk-in” sign ups.

 

Dance in Davis Park, “the Princess and Her Ponies” with Carli Mareneck and Friends

Carli Mareneck of Trillium Performing Arts Collective in Lewisburg, WV has written, narrated and choreographed this larger than life dance parable inspired by the artwork of Franz Marc and Wassily Kandinsky. Children of all ages will enjoy this delightful tale of a princess coming of age and discovering her conscience with her ponies. The piece includes masks by Jude Binder, painted ponies created by Zarina Mareneck and costumes by Mareneck and Eileen Kramer.

FOOTMAD “Stories and Songs of the Civil War” with Bobby Horton

World renowned scholar, Bobby Horton will present the Civil War history through stories and songs. Mr. Horton will be preceded by live demonstrations by young, local re-enactors who will perform drills and dances in period attire.

Class in Graham Dance Technique

Class for advanced dancers (high school age and older) with Virgine Mecene*, director of the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance of the Martha Graham Dance Company in NYC.
