A Cross/Generational Theatre Game Ages 7 - Seniors
The Wiz is the soulful African American version of the classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz fairy tale with a modern twist that retells the tale. The Wiz originated on Broadway in 1975, became a hit movie in 1978 and has enjoyed several reincarnations including a holiday 2015 television LIVE rendition. The music by Charlie Smalls is a lively mixture of rock, gospel and soul.
Take a shaded stroll on the charming Sunrise Carriage Trail and enjoy music, dance and art along the way. The .65 mile trail is on an incline, so the walk is mildly strenuous. Performers include JADCO, the performing arts component of January's Academy of Dance under January Johnson Wolfe, Trail Magic (folk), Justin James, Eduardo Canelón (Latin) and musical easels at 2:15pm.
