David Bowie’s Songbook

Keyboard player and composer Mark Scarpelli and 7 string musicians perform a special 1 1/2 hour production of David Bowie’s Songbook in Center Court.

Music Among Friends

FestivALL audiences will be treated to "Crippled Symmetry" by avant-garde artist Morton Feldman (New Yorker article here), the most painterly of composers. Inspired by the asymmetry of hand-woven Oriental rugs, "Crippled Symmetry" is a painting in musical form, gorgeous, unforgettable, and probably unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.

Capitol Market Stage Saturday

Country, bluegrass and traditional music is performed at Charleston's outdoor Farmers Market. Inside you can find soups, salads, seafood, panini, deli sandwiches and Soho's Italian Restaurant. You can also buy wine, cheese, fresh produce, West Virginia products and Holl's Chocolates.

“A Little Lunch Music” with Mark Scarpelli & Guests

In celebration of Charleston Town Center’s 30th Anniversary this year and FestivALL 2013, popular musician & pianist, Mark Scarpelli will perform with special guests throughout the week during lunchtime.

Musical Easels

Round and round and round they go, where the artist stops nobody knows; for 30 minutes, local artists paint or draw the scenery while rotating easels in sync with music of street musicians.

Sunrise Carriage Trail, June 23, 2:15 - 3pm

Lee Street Triangle, June 27, 6:30 - 7:15pm

Kids' Variety Show

Community Drum Circle

This facilitated drum circle lets everyone, young children to the elderly, be an equal part of the music making.  No experience is necessary; it’s truly a community event. Participants are encouraged to express themselves rhythmically. Everyone contributes their rhythms to the circle and an amazing group song results!

The June 29 session in Davis Park begins after "Dance in Davis Park" sometime between 5:30 and 6pm.

Locations: Schoenbaum Stage, Haddad Riverfront Park (June 23) and Davis Park (June 29)
