THE MAYOR'S CONCERT WITH BOOKER T. & THE MG'S AND SPECIAL GUEST EDDIE FLOYD
These Rock and Roll Hall of Famers bring along Eddie “Knock On Wood” Floyd to help serve up a night full of classic Soul sounds. Original members, Booker T. Jones, Steve Cropper and Donald 'Duck' Dunn are all still performing in what has been called “The Greatest Soul Instrumental Band of all Time”. Their hits include “Green Onions”, "Hip Hug-Her," "Groovin'," "Soul-Limbo," "Hang 'em High," and "Time Is Tight."
They played a big role in rock and soul music history, backing up artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and Rufus and Carla Thomas. Cropper and Dunn are also members of the Blues Brothers Band featured in the original Blues Brothers movie. Individual members have collaborated with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Boz Scaggs, Willie Nelson, John Fogerty and others. Booker T. has just released a new CD called “Potato Hole” on which he was joined by Neil Young and the Drive-By Truckers.
