West Side Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social
Take a stroll back in time to an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social on the green space of Stonewall Jackson Middle School canopied by massive oak trees. Come early so you will be sure to get your free ice cream treat compliments of United Valley Bell Dairy and the West Side Main Street Program. There will be food, wood turning by John Crede and Bryon Young, pottery making by Capitol Clay Arts Company, children’s face painting, chalk art, Laundry Sack Races with cash prizes sponsored by Gardner Cleaners, Horse Races for the little ones, Almost Heaven Chorus of Sweet Adelines and plenty of fun for all ages! Gary Auerbach of Salem WV, 1995 World Frisbee Freestyle Champion, will be there all day to demonstrate and teach children of all ages and athletic abilities the basic skills, a few cool tricks, and “spirit-of-the-game” of Frisbee.
